It is an advanced electronic signature based on a qualified certificate and created by a qualified signature creation device (QSCD), such as a supported Slovak eID.
Legal effect
Under eIDAS, QES has the legal effect of a handwritten signature and is recognised across EU Member States. A specific transaction may require additional elements such as a timestamp.
Formats and timestamp
PAdES signs PDF, XAdES is XML-based and ASiC packages documents and signatures. PAdES Baseline‑T also carries a trusted signature timestamp.
